The ‘Four Seasons’ peace study (Ping’anli means Peaceful) features a wall on which there are a number of auspicious patterns embedded in the grey brick walls of characteristic courtyards of old Beijing.
In the main ticket hall of the station, the majority of the columns are decorated with relief designs of vases containing different plants. They are very much understated but have much more impact because of that.
These two designs are by Ma Xiaoteng and Li Qing from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts. They feature apple, pomegranate and magnolia trees and can be found over the escalators going down to the platform.
